Guizhou University always places importance on developing international cooperation and exchanges. So far, the University has established cooperative and exchange relations with more than 50 universities and research institutes from more than 20 countries and regions, such as the America, Australia, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. To maintain and develop these relations, Guizhou University receives visitors from these institutions and other areas.

The University has engaged foreign teachers and experts for teaching, lecture tour and academic exchange meetings. It has also enrolled overseas students from different countries to study Chinese and other courses in degree and non-degree academic programs. The educational qualifications of the faculty members have been upgraded by sending teachers and researchers overseas to engage in continuing education, academic workshops, and collaborative research and study with foreign counterparts, and research collaboratively with the foreign counterparts, degree study, or attend international academic workshops.
