The Office of International Relations (OIR) oversees the management of Guizhou University 's (GZU) international relations by attending to a broad range of responsibilities. The main functions of the OIR include: drafting new policies concerning international relations and planing the development of projects involving international affairs in the University. It executes the university's policies regarding international affairs and the coordination of international academic exchange. It is also responsible for assisting various colleges and departments of GZU with foreign affairs. The OIR facilitates the teaching, scientific research, and general academic exchange by providing informational services and manages visits from abroad to the University. Specifically, it drafts and sends the invitations for foreign experts to GZU, participates in the enrollment of international students and the reception of international students, scholars, and visiting professors to the University.
In addition, the OIR also assists GZU students and staff members with their business trips abroad through handling their passport and visa arrangements, and passes to Hong Kong & Macau.
Further responsibilities of the OIR include handling international conference requests, planning and implementing activities and events involving foreign affairs with official authorization; communicating with foreign universities and partaking in the running of overseas schools affiliated with GZU.
