On the morning of Aug. 4th, officials from Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and delegation of Indonesian universities visited GZU and held a symposium with GZU leaders at the No.1 meeting room of the Administrative Building on North Campus of GZU. Participants present included Vice President of GZU Song Baoan and Zhao Degang, officials from Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. Other participants were leaders from the Office of International Relations of GZU and Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) and delegates from 12 Indonesian Universities.
At the beginning of the symposium, Song Baoan delivered a welcome speech, saying that GZU has undertaken or co-organized 8 China-ASEAN Education Communication Week since 2008, which strengthened GUZ’s cooperation with ASEAN universities. He also said that GZU has attracted over 200 students from ASEAN. He was certain that this visit could break new ground for the communication and cooperation between GZU and Indonesian universities.
Later, the head of the Indonesian delegation, expressed that GZU, with a history of more than 100 years, has experienced rapid development. 9 out of 12 Indonesian universities in this visit has established relations with GZU. He hoped that both sides could cooperate in many other areas with good quality.
Moreover, Zhou Jie, Director of the Office of International Relations, introduced Guizhou’s geographic location, land form and ethnicculture. She also showed fruits of cooperation between GZU and ASEAN, hoping both sides could strengthen their communication and cooperation.
At last, the Indonesian delegation signed with GZU 10 friendly exchange cooperationagreements .
