Accompanied by the vice president Mr. Stubblefield, a delegation of students and teachers from Southern University, USA, paid a visit to GZU. Vice president Mr. Zhao Degang, received the visiting group, and held a discussion with them.
A sister university of Guizhou University, Southern University signed intercollegiate cooperative agreement with GZU in 2010. The delegation's visit is to offer a chance for students from the US to gain information about Guizhou University, and to have a discussion on the details of a jointly education program (2+2) that will be started next year with GZU..
The discussion began with a speech by Mr. Zhao, who extended his warm welcome to the guests, and his gratitude to Mr. Stubblefield for all his work and efforts to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. He believed that the joint program for student education will achieve very good results, and also hoped that exchange and cooperation in the aspects of teaching and scientific research between teachers from two schools will flourish.
Then Mr. Stubblefield made a speech, in which, he thanked Guizhou University and Mr. Zhao for the warm reception, even in the summer holidays. He also affirmed the importance and significance of the exchanges and cooperation between two schools. He mentioned that the jointly educational program had been included in the list of important international programs of Southern University.
After the meeting, Mr. Zhao, showed the guests the Key Laboratory of Agricultural Biotechnology on the southern campus. Both sides agreed to carry out substantial cooperation in the life science research.
