On October 17, the launching ceremony of the 2025-2026 season "Governor's Cup" Guizhou Provincial Youth Campus Football League (hereinafter referred to as "Guizhou Campus Super League") was held at the West Campus Stadium of Guizhou University. Song Guangqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Working Committee for Education and Member of the Party Group of the Provincial Department of Education; Zhou Jin, Member of the Party Group and Deputy Director-General of the Provincial Department of Education; Zhu Junhua, Second-level Inspector of the Provincial Sports Bureau and Secretary of the Party Branch of the Provincial Football Association; Yang Wei, Party Secretary of GZU; and Yang Shengwei, Deputy Party Secretary of Guizhou Police College, attended the ceremony. Key officials from various universities and provincial high schools, as well as four football teams from GZU, Guizhou Police College, Guizhou University Affiliated Middle School, and Guiyang Ritan Middle School, along with representatives of teachers and students, participated in the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Zhou Jin.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn flag-raising segment, during which all attendees stood facing the flag-raising platform, sang the national anthem, and saluted.

Yang Wei delivered a speech. She pointed out that as an important event for the upgrading of Guizhou youth campus football competitions, the Guizhou Campus Super League will build a high-quality platform for primary, secondary, and university students to showcase their football talents and connect with career pathways. It will also serve as a "golden course" for "shaping character, tempering will, and fostering spirit," guiding young students to enjoy sports, develop sound personalities, and lay a solid foundation for youth physical fitness and mass sports in the construction of a strong sports nation. GZU will wholeheartedly provide various services, taking the "Governor's Cup" as an opportunity to work with all units to continuously enhance football as a vibrant brand that promotes Guizhou nationally and globally, jointly contributing educational strength to showcasing Guizhou's new image.

In his speech, Song Guangqiang emphasized that developing campus football is a foundational project for building a "strong education nation, strong sports nation, and healthy China." He urged universities across the province to attach great importance to campus football, build consensus, unify thinking, and further strengthen their mission and responsibility in campus football work, using the "football dream" to contribute to the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. To ensure the complete success of the league, he put forward four hopes: First, solidify the teaching foundation to strengthen the mass base of the class super league; second, optimize the competition system to establish a standardized and stable league mechanism; third, strengthen conditional guarantees, build a strong team of teachers, and improve risk prevention mechanisms for sports; fourth, uphold the original intention of educating people, combining football with tempering will, cultivating team spirit, and patriotism, to promote the comprehensive physical and mental health development of students.

Li Yangyang, a student representative from the College of Physical Education of GZU, issued a football initiative at the ceremony, calling on all participants to cherish the opportunity of the league and be runners on the green field; embrace the integration of sports and education and be role models for comprehensive development; and spread football culture and be conveyors of health and happiness.

During the launching segment of the ceremony, Song Guangqiang, Zhu Junhua, Yang Wei, and Yang Shengwei jointly inaugurated the 2025-2026 season "Governor's Cup" Guizhou Provincial Youth Campus Football League

The launching ceremony also featured exciting cultural performances, creating a passionate collision of "sports + culture" and presenting a dual feast for both sight and competition.

In the inaugural match, four teams—GZU International Zheergen Team, Guizhou Police College Flying Eagles Football Team, Guizhou University Affiliated Middle School Little Roses Women's Football Team, and Beijing Ritan Middle School Guiyang Branch Ritan Maolaoguo Women's Football Team—offered a thrilling competition for the teachers and student representatives present.

The Guizhou Campus Super League adopts a format of "1 main venue + 9 sub-venues," covering 9 cities and prefectures from central Guizhou to the northern Guizhou plateau, and from Miao and Dong villages to scenic mountains and rivers, encompassing all primary, secondary, and university schools, with youth across the province jointly witnessing the simultaneous blossoming of football enthusiasm.
