On December 28, Yuehu Square on Guizhou University’s West Campus was adorned with colorful flags and filled with a lively atmosphere as the Vibrant Xishan, Cultural Tourism Together – 2025 GZU "Xishan Cup" New Year Campus Run was held. University leaders Yang Wei, Chen Xiangsheng, Wu Pan, Wang Jinrong, Chen Yanbo, along with over a hundred alumni representatives from across the country, faculty, and staff, participated in the event. The event was hosted by GZU, co-organized by the Sports and Labor Education Committee, Alumni Association, and Labor Union, and co-sponsored by organizations such as the Guizhou International Chamber of Commerce, Guizhou Youth Chamber of Commerce, and Guizhou Exhibition Industry Association.

Vice President Chen Xiangsheng extended a warm welcome to the alumni returning to their alma mater and sincere greetings to all participating faculty, students, staff, and volunteers. He pointed out that this event is a vivid initiative to promote campus sports culture and practice the educational philosophy of "health first." Sports are an important vehicle for moral education, and the campus run deeply integrates physical exercise, campus culture, and patriotic education, inheriting and continuing the university's spirit of "self-reliance and unremitting struggle."

The campus run featured two events: a 2.5-kilometer Red Trail Race and a 7-kilometer Fitness Run, covering student, faculty, and alumni groups, further subdivided by age and gender. The course traversed the East and West campuses, passing through iconic campus buildings and cultural landmarks such as Jinzheng Building, Mingzheng Building, Dezheng Building, Chongwen Building, Yawen Building, and the Library. Participants could both exercise their bodies and experience GZU's profound cultural heritage and beautiful natural environment while running.

After intense competition, the rankings for each event group were determined. Zhu Siyi, a student majoring in Plant Production from the College of Agriculture, performed outstandingly in the 7-kilometer undergraduate women's group, achieving excellent results. In an interview with student reporters, she stated: "I am very happy to participate in this campus run. The scenery along the course and the cheers from my classmates touched me incredibly. Running not only exercises the body but also strengthens the will. This honor belongs to everyone who supported and encouraged me. I will continue to work hard, constantly running and surpassing myself in both academics and life."

The event organization was rigorous and orderly, with medical stations, supply points, and volunteer service points set up at the start, finish, and along the route, fully ensuring the safe and smooth conduct of the event. Various colleges and departments actively organized, and alumni enthusiastically participated, showcasing the spirit of unity, progress, and vigor of GZU.
