The College of Arts of Guizhou University is a comprehensive one for training various artistic talents in Guizhou Province.

Under the College, there are five departments regarding Music, Fine Art, Design, Drama, and Dance, which carry out 2 Masters programs in Musicology and Fine Arts, and 12 undergraduate programs in Composition and Theory of Composition Technique, Music Performance, Drawing, Art Design, Performance, Dance,music,Cartoon Making,Dramatic Direction,Art of Broadcast and Compering,and Sculpture. There are also programs available at the College oriented to full-time junior college students, secondary specialized students, adult students with the diploma of junior college trying to obtain the undergraduate diploma through self-taught study, and self-taught assistance examination classes. It is evident that the College provides programs of education in many disciplines at different levels.

The College has more than 56 full and associate professors, and 55 lecturers.

Accordingly, with its teaching staff of excellent quality, a full array of teaching facilities and outstanding teaching achievements, the College plays an important role in the society and enjoys a high reputation. In 2000, it was awarded the Advanced Unit for Art Education in China.
