The College of Mining of Guizhou
University now offers 6 undergraduate programs:
Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Surveying
Engineering, Engineering for Construction Environment
and Equiment,Mineral Resources Engineering,and Security Engineering. It also
has 1 provincial key specialty (Mining Engineering),
2 postgraduate programs for engineering (Mining
Engineering and Mineral Processing) and 1 Specialized
postgraduate program (Program for Mining Engineering).
The College has a total enrollment
of nearly 1000 students, including over 600 undergraduates,
over 40 post-graduates, and over 100 adult students.
Of the total 43 staff members, there are 13 professors,
and 10 associate professors.
The College has a newly built
lab for Mining System Engineering, Mine Gas, and
Soil Mechanics. By integrating production, learning
and research, we have enlarged the continuous
optional laboratory. With good capacity of production
and research, the College has undertaken more
than 40 projects funded by the Province and the
University as well as the Natural Science Funds.
In 2004, the students majoring in Mining Engineering
won the gold prize in the National Challenge
Cup Career Designing Contest for College Students. |
